The air supply for the motor is just as important for the combustion of the air-fuel mixture as the fuel itself. The correct ratio of air and fuel volume, the air movement and the air composition secure a resource-friendly, efficient and dynamic motor operation. Therefore, the air supply is controlled with flaps and valves.
Actuators in the intake tract, for example, adjust flaps and valves. The more precise the actuators can be controlled, the easier it is to reduce fuel consumption, CO2 and other emissions via the fill control.
