Adaptive distance control

ACC needs to be activated proactively by the driver and follows a set speed or the preceding vehicle. ADC is always active in the background and only keeps a safe, comfortable distance when a preceding vehicle is present. It stays active after applying the brake pedal.

ADC and AEB are independent from each other and can be active simultaneously. If the necessary deceleration cannot be provided by ADC, AEB can contribute with additional deceleration.

So far ADC and speed limiter are independent features, but combinations can be developed upon request.

So far ADC does not depend on different vehicle modes. However, the driver still uses the accelerator pedal, and its behavior can be adjusted for different vehicle modes.

The smallest initial distance setting is comparable to ACC. If you are going down a slope and do not increase application of the accelerator pedal, the distance is similar to ACC. The desired distance can only be reduced at the command of the driver.

In this situation, the acceleration will be adjusted to ensure comfortable and controllable vehicle behavior.

ADC is a longitudinal SAE Level 1 feature that can provide additional safety benefits.

In this situation, ADC will warn the driver and ask them to take over. Additionally, AEB can intervene to achieve greater deceleration.

Considering the current feature characteristics, there is no additional safety risk identified in comparison to ACC and there is no increased ASIL classification on hardware components.
