Brake tests can be carried out on the floodable brake-measurement tracks with various road surfaces and friction coefficients.

The multi-functional area has a size of 1,496 ft x 255 ft / 456 m x 78 m and can be used for many vehicle tests. This includes various friction coefficient surfaces and a traction control circle.

Rough road tracks put suspension and electronics through a hard test. The track provides different road surfaces and is suitable for speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph).

• Potholes: 3 m / 10 ft x 21.3 m / 71 ft with 6 potholes 1 – 1 1/2” deep
• Deep sand: 91 m / 300 ft x 6 m / 20 ft
• Gravel (MDOT, Michigan Department of Transportation): 141 m / 470 ft x 15 m / 50 ft
• Rumble strips: three 2.4 m / 8 ft x 2.7 m / 9 ft strips
• Sine waves: 30 m / 100 ft x 6 m / 20 ft

The off-road area has multiple surfaces for frame twists and vehicle dynamic evaluations.

• Lane one: log lane, avg. 12” diameter – 15 ft x 50 ft / 4.5 m x 15 m
• Lane two: grass lane – 15 ft x 50 ft / 4.5 m x 15 m
• Lane three: small rocks, 4” to 11” / 15 ft x 50 ft / 4.5 m x 15 m
• Lane four: medium rocks, 16” to 20” / 15 ft x 50 ft / 4.5 m x 15 m
• Lane five: large boulders, 36” to 46” / 15 ft x 50 ft / 4.5 m x 15 m
• Buried tires: four farm tractor tires, 65” in diameter, buried at various depths allowing a staggered effect, with the ability to scale from tire to tire
• Hill climb: 50 ft / 15 m
• Northwest side of the hill, the slope is 21 degrees
• Southwest side of the hill the slope measures 19 degrees with a 5-degree pitch
• Southeast side of the hill, the slope measures 11 degrees
• Northeast side of the hill contains a lane with dirt and large rocks and a slope measuring 23 degrees
