Juvincourt proving ground

The circuits allow you to define test runs around the straight line 1.8 km long and 50 to 65m wide. They allow you to move from one test module to another or can be integrated into a testing scenario.

• Circuit 1: 4.2 km long, asphalt, 5 right-hand bends, 1 left-hand bend
• Circuit 2: 4.8 km long, asphalt and concrete, 7 right-hand bends, 3 left-hand bends
• Circuit 3: 2.1 km long, asphalt and concrete, 4 right-hand bends
• Circuit 4: 1.6 km long, asphalt and concrete, 5 right-hand bends
• Circuit 5: 1.8 km long, off-road track, soil, grass, stones, fragmented concrete, 12 obstacles
• Circuit 6: 1.8 km long, handling course, FFSA certified

Tiles track
A 200 m long straight line with tiles can be watered in order to provide a low-grip track and for tests on mixed ground (wet tiles / dry asphalt). To be able to run tests on such a mixed ground, the last 50 meters have a tiled section that is only half as wide.

Polished concrete
Parallel to the tiles track, there is a 110 m long smooth concrete track that is irrigated by the same system.

Stainless steel track
Another track comprises two 90 m long watered, stainless steel strips.

Three circular arcs are marked on the ground in the large curve of the circuit with radii of 100 m, 150 m and 200 m.

The test modules are defined by markings positioned on a straight line of 1800m. They are preceded by a 300m acceleration area and followed by a 200m deceleration area. The positioning of the modules makes it possible to simulate a central reservation.

Beltway with a length of 2.1 km equipped with ground markings degraded by multiple impressions and placed on an imperfect support resulting from successive repairs.This route is equipped with vertical roadsign and lined with grass on one side.

The configuration can be modulated using floor mats.

At the end of the main straight, controlled spraying of the tracks is carried out by using Nelson spray guns. These guns have an output between 10 and 50 m³ per hour, over a distance of 29 to 58 meters.
The concrete track comprises of a 200 m long and 7 m wide straight line, followed by a curve with 50 m and 55 m radius. The asphalt can be watered at a length of 150 m and width of 40 m.

Fresh water basin
An artificial basin passable by vehicles can be flooded with fresh water to a depth of up to 60 centimeters.

Irrigation of other proving ground areas can be realized with water thanks of 11,500 liter capacity.

1.8 km closed circuit for dynamic evaluation of vehicle behavior. Multi-use with any type of curve, slope and deviation for progressive and varied driving. Design by TILKE GmbH.

With a width of 6 m, the hills enable tests on three different gradients: 15%, 20% and 30%. Some gradients have specific test areas.

ASR track:
The ASR track with a gradient of 15 percent has a tiled 1.2 meters wide and 20 meters long surface (with 40 x 40 cm slabs) that is watered to ensure low tire grip.

Garage exit:
Two rows of tubes (25 millimeter in diameter) with a gradient of 16 degrees simulate a garage exit. The 20 meters long and 2.5 meters wide track is mounted on a 15 percent slope.

“Sleeping policeman” track:
On a 15 percent slope, every 53 centimeters a total number of 24 speed bumps with a width of two meters are arranged.

Variable slope:
The variable slope is used to perform static tests at different inclinations. The slope may vary from three to 33 percent, in increments of three degrees. The gradient can only be changed with the device unloaded.

Paved track
The track comprises two parts, each 40 meters long. The first part is flat and smooth; the second part has irregular bumps and pits.

Threshold track
The track provides sharp-edged, irregular obstacles. The thresholds are rectangular, 60 centimeters long, 1.5 meters wide and up to seven centimeters high. Three groups of eight thresholds are divided into two rows.

Sine wave track
The track consists of 54 traffic calming devices that are three centimeters high and four meters wide. The distance between two bumps decreases gradually.

Along the track, a circular area of 37 meters in diameter is marked on the ground as follows:

Yellow lines:

• 2 tangent circles ("8")
• 10 m radius per circle

White lines:

• 3 concentric circles with a radius of 6, 20 and 30 m

These tracks consist of two rows of rails fixed to the ground. The rails are connected with tubes (pipes) having a certain diameter.

Tubes with 27 millimeters in diameter:

• Two rows of 24 solid tubes
• Row length: 8 m
• Rows width: 1 m
• Distance: 550 mm between rows, 330 mm between consecutive tubes

Tubes with 50 mm in diameter:

• Two rows of 11 solid tubes
• Row length: 6.7 mm
• Row width: 1 m
• Distance: 550 mm between rows, 600 mm between consecutive tubes

This set of tracks offers three types of parking materialized by white marking strips: parallel, perpendicular, angle parking lot.

Several configurations are available: horizontal or on an inclined slope. With or without curb.
