In the case of gasoline direct injection, the high-pressure circuit is fed by the high-pressure pump, which feeds the fuel into the fuel rail at the required pressure.
Bosch offers two versions of the high-pressure pump for different powertrains, with system pressures of up to 250 bar and up to 350 bar, respectively.
The high-pressure pump 5.25 compresses the fuel supplied by the electric fuel pump to a pressure of up to 250 bar. Noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) is one of the defining factors that drove the development of the 5.25. The high-pressure pump improves acoustic properties due to optimized demand control and outlet valve.

The high-pressure pump 6.35 brings the fuel delivered by the electric fuel pump to a pressure of 350 bar, which is required for high-pressure injection. The high-pressure injectors on the fuel rail meter the fuel with great precision and at high pressure. This optimizes mixture preparation directly in the combustion chamber.
