Features of the corner radar sensor
Thanks to its long range, outstanding angular resolution, and wide beam angle, the corner radar sensor detects objects and people quickly, accurately, and reliably.The own chirp sequence modulation feature improves the sensor’s perception thanks to the greater detail provided by the reflected signal. This enables the radar sensor to detect objects and their position, the relative speed, and the direction of motion with extremely high accuracy. Equipped with these capabilities, the sensor helps to make driving safer and more comfortable and convenient. It is ideal for monitoring the area behind and in front of the vehicle on the highway as well as in busy city traffic, e.g. at complex intersections. The sensor can warn the driver as and when required and can even initiate an emergency stop.
Corner radar sensors can therefore, for example, help the driver “see” what is happening within the vehicle’s blind spot. And if the driver starts a lane-change maneuver, the system will provide assistance in the form of visual, acoustic or haptic alerts. It also provides support for automatic lane changes. But not only that: in parking situations, the corner radar sensors help the driver to detect and keep an eye on other road users. The rear cross-traffic alert system uses the radar sensors to alert the driver to traffic passing by behind the vehicle when reversing out of a parking space. And when a person inside the vehicle opens a door, the car exit warning system uses the corner radar sensors to detect any road users approaching from behind and provides an early warning of the risk of a collision.
