Using the range polygon, the remaining range of the electric vehicle is calculated and displayed in real time. The system calculates the range precisely and dynamically based on the charging status of the vehicle’s battery, the user’s driving behavior, and other vehicle data such as weight and air resistance.

In addition, external factors such as weather, traffic conditions, and the topology of the road are included in the calculation, further increasing the accuracy of the prediction. If the charge of the battery is not enough to reach the destination, the system displays appropriate charging stations and adjusts the route accordingly.

Vehicle energy coordinator

The smart control of the energy flows in the electric vehicle contributes to increasing the vehicle’s range, so that the destination can be reached with as few charging stops as possible. To do this, the system calculates the optimal operating strategy and redirects energy accordingly. For example, the energy consumption of the air conditioning can be reduced and the energy redirected to the drive to enable a larger range. In safe home mode, energy from systems that are not critical to safety, such as the passenger cabin, can be made available to the drive system. The amount of energy required by the drive system can also be considerably reduced by limiting the top speed and acceleration, which also increases the range.

Connected energy management also contributes to greater efficiency, convenience, and a longer service life during the charging process. Users can choose from a variety of charging modes and personalize the charging process to meet their needs.

For example, battery health can be protected and the charging time can be optimized. Other options include particularly fast, scheduled, cost-effective, or quiet charging. The smart system can also recommend the optimal charging mode to users based on their previous preferences.
