The compact steering wheel actuator detects with the support of sensors the driver‘s request and transmits it digitally to the steering rack actuator. Together they form the Steer-by-Wire system. On the basis of vehicle information, such as speed and the feedback of the steering rack actuator, the steering wheel actuator generates the steering feel. Thus, the driver permanently receives precise information about the driving state of the vehicle.
Furthermore, the steering wheel actuator offers the possibility to position the steering wheel individually for the driver and to store the steering wheel completely if necessary.
