Along with fuel cell applications and battery-electric drives, the hydrogen engine represents a further option for the powertrain mix of the future. In addition to its employment in commercial vehicles, it can also be used in applications involving demanding environmental conditions. One possibility for injecting hydrogen into the engine is hydrogen port fuel injection from Bosch. With this technology, the hydrogen is injected into the intake tract close to the inlet valve during the intake stroke.
